A pharmaceutical drop-box has been installed inside the Tigard Police Department lobby, adjacent to Tigard City Hall located at 13125 SW Hall Blvd. The drop box allows citizens to dispose of unwanted, unused or expired medications throughout the year.
Five out of 30 businesses visited in Tigard on November 4, 2011 failed to pass an OLCC check for alcohol sales to minors. The Tigard Police Department assisted the Oregon Liquor Control Commission (OLCC) with this effort. A team of OLCC inspectors along with two Tigard Police Officers accompanying an eighteen year-old male volunteer, visited the selected establishments.

Deaths caused by drugs have topped traffic-related deaths, an analysis by the Los Angeles Times concludes. The rise in drug-related deaths is due in large part to an increase in overdoses from prescription narcotics. This is the first time drugs have caused more deaths than motor vehicles since the government started tracking drug deaths in 1979.



Tigard High is now Red Ribbon certified! Due to STUD’s commitment to improving school environment, parent engagement and academic performance, Tigard High School was awarded the Red Ribbon Certification for 2011-2014!
To help keep potentially dangerous drugs out of kids’ hands, the Tigard Police Dept. hosts Prescription Drug Turn-Ins twice a year. Unwanted prescription and non-prescription medications are collected for safe disposal. Next event is on April 28th.
